Question:
My friend is afraid of dogs. Whenever she comes over, Bear has to be outside or downstairs :rolleyes: . I can't really blame some people for being afraid of dogs if they have been bitten/attacked, but she hasn't and it's a little irritating. Anyone else know people with a fear of dogs?

Yep, me. I've been slightly afraid of dogs for as long as I can remember. It's only big dogs I'm afraid of though. I've never been attacked by any either.

I was ready to sell one of my Golden pups to a friend of one of my previous pup owners. His live in was deathly afraid of dogs as she had been attacked as a child. I suggested she come out and meet all my dogs as well as the pups...finally she was comfortable, and it was a done deal. That was 30 years ago... not only did they get 2 other pups from litters, but after I stopped breeding , bought from recommened breeders.

yeah lots of my relatives are afraid of dogs. That is why they never come to our house and if they do they want the dogs locked away. It does get frustrating because they always say it's not because they are afraid of them but because their dirty.

The wife of a friend of ours was afraid of dogs and passed that fear onto her kids-if mama's scared the kids will learn to be scared too-that's all it takes.

One of my brothers is sort of scared of dogs. I think it has something to do with both this hyper black lab we had when he was very little and it would knock him over and this evil terrier that would bite your ankles if it saw you move at all.
I have a slight fear of GSD's thanks to this one that would chase me down the street while I was waiting for my bus and it would tree me up a sign post and bite my pant legs.

My son-in-law was terrified of dogs until he got to know Princess then was around Gracie when we got her. Gracie sold him on the idea of getting a dog once the girls are a little older.
