Small dog aggressive towards larger ones

Question:
I have a 3 year old Shitzu/Bichon Frise cross male. At about one year of age he became very aggressive towards most other dogs - especially ones larger than he. He tries to mount them, bites at them a barks in their faces. What can I do to train him to stop this attempt at dominance?
Answer:
To add a bit of background to my dog, he is neutered, very friendly towards people and is taken for long walks three times a day (so he is well-exercised)....
Answer:
Not unusual for a small dog. Has he been through obedience classes? I think that would be a great first step.
Answer:
Yes, he's been through obedience classes and we constantly put him through the paces of what we learned (sit, stay, down, etc...), but this is one trait that I can't get a handle on. Some bigger dogs he's friendly with and plays, but most -- watch out!!! I'm afraid that one day I won't be able to intervene quick enough and he'll get killed. Any suggestions on how to work on it??
Answer:
You need to find a behaviorist to evaluate him & if its fixable then that person can advise.
I wouldn't take him anywhere that he would be in danger tho. Have you tried googling for help?

Good for you for trying to help your dog get over this. I wish more people were as responsible. I was walking my dogs (on leash) one day. From across the street a stuffed animal of a dog ran up to and attacked one of my dogs (I was walking three at the time). The dog that was attacked is about 65 pounds and is part terrier. He simply picked up the stuffed animal dog and started shaking it. We were able to get the dog out of our dog's mouth but what a horrendous experience! Eventually the owner showed up from inside the house.
