Question:
I don't want to crate my dog because it's just something I don't believe in with him.
But when we eat (our table is low) he constantly jumps up, no matter how many times you say no, give him his bone, or push him down.
We'd like to train him to the point where he won't do this anymore (because it is kind of annoying )
When we say no, and keep putting him back on the floor he get's aggressive and starts to nip/growl etc.
Any ideas on food issues? Because we're not going to feed him the people food.
Answer:
be more sturn with him, you need to be in charge not him...

Sounds good
Answer:
Hello again,
With consistency the puppy should get the point, and eventually stop jumping up and whining.
Maybe you could also try a baby gate to keep him in a secure place and out of the same room as you while you are eating.
Just be careful, puppies can get into a lot of things while you are not watching and many common things around the house are poisonous.
If you are not going to crate your dog, then he should be under your constant supervision.
Answer:
I also had this problem, and I taught my dog to go to her bed while we were eating. I kept some of her treats next to me on the table, and as long as she was staying in her bed (a few feet away from the table) and being quiet, I'd toss her a treat. At first I had to use a lot of treats, but eventually she got the idea and now I only use 2 or 3 during my meal.
