Question:
My dog, Baby, has been my best friend and companion through a lot for the past 11 years and she went through Katrina with me. But now she's old and has pain and many problems. I know she has to go see my Dad in heaven but it is so hard to imagine life without her. My mind says it wouldn't be fair to let her suffer but my heart is broken.
Answer:
What is wrong with her? What does your vet say?
Yes it is wrong to let an animal suffer. Many people keep them alive much too long just to make themselves feel good. Having a pet that is in pain that can't be relieved is very selfesh - often euthanizing it is the last kind thing you can do for it. Good luck
Answer:
I just put my dog of 9 years to sleep. She was in pain and we couldn't do anything about her degenerative joint disease and dysplasia. In the end, as hard as it was, I realized that I got her as a rescue dog to help improve her life and not to have her spend the rest of her life in horrible pain. Words cannot describe how much I miss my dog but in the end it was the right thing to do. I can't wait to see her on the rainbow bridge.
