Question:
Today, there was something buzzing around the ceiling, and it turns out it was a big wasp. My cat came in the room to investigate, and started chasing it. Here I am, scared of wasp trying to protect my kitty by throwing shoes at the wasp, but that didn't help out very much. anyway, an hour later I finally killed it and the main question is...
what if your cat was stung by a wasp, what do u do? is it that serious if my kitty does get stung? should I call for immediate vet help if I find out she was stung? I don't know if my cat is allergic to any bugs... she likes to chow down on anything small that's moving, so that's why im a little nervous on anything that has stingers, but I can't stop it from coming, and I'm at work for most of the day. It's summer, and wasps and bees come inside a lot.
if she does get stung, are there any home remedies I can do for her if she does get stung? XD I'm trying to get prepared for what will happen. seeing that wasp inside is a scary thought for my little Bebedora. Any stories will be appreciated. Thanks.

Well I'm not sure about home remedies...but -
My vet told me that cats are like humans when it comes to bee stings. It can either be a very minor inconvenience or else it can be a major emergency (anaphylactic shock). It just depends on the cat.
I assume the same goes for wasps. I've never been stung by either and I'm petrified of them.
Leopold got stung on the paw once. It swelled immediately, but not a lot. Enough to be easily noticeable, though. I was not able to get the stinger out. Apparently he did because a couple hours later, the swelling was completely gone. I didn't know that they *could* react badly to a sting at the time, or else I may have rushed him to the vet...unsure of what else to do. Ignorance is bliss sometimes. I got lucky in other words.

Those nasty creatures with stingers will somehow find their way into the house no matter how careful one is. My cats are too lazy to go after any bug. They just watch it fly around while I, doing their job, hunt it down.
Just keep the bug spray handy! My older cat when she was younger used to surgically remove the 6 or 8 legs on crickets and leave the legs exactly where the body of the cricket is so it looked like the cricket had legs, but did not.

Once my Fleury was sitting in the windowsill when I came in the back door. A yellowjacket came flying in when I opened the door and flew right to the widow where Fleury was sitting. She immediately attacked it and got stung in the paw, which really pissed her off, because then she kept trying to get at the thing. I trapped the yellowjacket between the two windows and then let it outside. She wasn't really affected by the sting, thank goodness, but everytime she sees a yellowjacket outside her tail starts flicking and she tries to attack it through the window. It is quite amusing...

Cats can be allergic to bee/wasp stings. The wasps also can sting you more then once - they don't lose the stingers like bees do.
I'd keep the vet's # (emergency) on hand just in case. Remember a cat's body is a lot smaller then yours, so reactions would be faster if allergic.
BTW a quick thing to put on bee stings to take away pain is TOOTHPASTE

Well. I really don't know. But if PHX got stung, I would probably either call/bring him to the vet JUST TO MAKE SURE! I wouldn't want to keep him at home-THINKING he's getting better... You just never know! But I've been seeing these HUGE wasp/bee thingy's at my place- they are like the size of a golf ball from what I can see. i'm so scared they are going to get into my house!!! PHX always is trying to get out of the house to chase these stupid guys....ugh.

We have "wood bees" around here. They drill perfect holes...amazing. They should need some sort of aircraft permit, they are so large. The males will purposely buzz right by your head...supposedly just territorial behavior, no stinger on the male. But I don't care. They freak me out.
